Introduction:

Canthaxanthin is a carotene pigment with an orange color. It is naturally found in a variety of foods and can also be artificially synthesized. It is     mostly used as an animal feed additive to make the color of egg yolk and poultry more vivid. It is mainly used as an orange coloring agent         when used in food additives and is also an antioxidant.

Use:

    1. Feed addition

Canthaxanthin (Food Additive International Code: INS161g) is mainly used as an animal feed additive to make the color of egg yolk and             poultry more vivid and the color of salmon more ruddy.

    2. Food coloring

As a coloring agent canthaxanthin can also be used in foods such as jams, candies, syrups, sauces, and carbon dioxide-containing                     beverages. However, canthaxanthin is more commonly used in animal feed rather than as a food colorant.

    3. Tanning pills
